Welcome to the 2020 BurbNChic LOVE Issue.
I love this time of year when I get to put together my LOVE issue for Valentine’s Day. I went back and forth with this years theme. In the past I have done “Valentine’s Day 3 Ways” and also, Date Night Idea’s .
This past year has been such a Lovey Dovey year for me with getting married and all, so it is very on brand right now. I say it in every “Love Issue” but Valentine’s Day comes with a lot of pressure. Let me be honest by saying that, even when I try to keep the pressure off of the Holiday, and I play super coy like I am not expecting much… I still always end up expecting a heart shaped donut and flowers. Like, ALWAYS. So *hint hint Kev Filotto.
Let’s start with the important things.
Gifts for Him
Gifts for Her
Trying a different approach…
So this year, I am attempting a different approach for how we are “celebrating” Valentine’s Day. I feel like I’m beating a dead horse with the whole “Put the phone down” thing but I want to dial it back this year and keep it chill.
I’m thinking a night in, home-cooked meal, LOTS of wine and a GAME, would be a change of pace for us. Not having to get ready or fight a Holiday crowd at a restaurant seems like the best way to spend Valentine’s Day this year. I am making it my own personal rule that cell phones must be away and out of sight for the entire night.
So I purchased this Card Game on Amazon that looked like a good time. It is a game that asks random questions to your significant other and you get to know RANDOM things about each other that spark a different path of conversation from your typical, “work, friends, dog” conversations.
Even as I received the game in the mail and was peeking through some of the cards, there were so many questions that I would NOT know Kevin’s answer. Even after 10 years together, I think I could learn so much more about him.
So there you have it. We are keeping things very minimal this year. After the year we’ve had, and how much we have celebrated each other, it will be nice to have a night to ourselves in our pajama’s to look back on our year of love, and continue it on by sitting and getting to know Random facts about each other. Why not!?
Until Next time..
