Well, it has been a minute. Welcome back to BurbNChic, and Welcome to a New Year! Is it weird that I am still saying that? So first things first, you will notice a few new things around here. I am attempting to try out a new way of blogging! I won’t get into too much more detail, but I have decided to try something new for the first few posts of my New Year. We will see if you guys love it?
Where do we begin with catching up?
I guess I should fill all of you in on our crazy Christmas Break! We headed to Fort Myers,Florida for a week with my family, then instantly flew home and hopped on a flight to Park City, Utah with Kev’s family. Both trips were super fun and successful, and I still feel like I am catching up from them. I love the traveling and the time with our families, but I always feel like I need a week at home, locked in my house to do house related things after I get back from such a long time away. (I need a FULL day to cuddle my dog and rid the separation anxiety.)
As you guys know, I am super NOT into the entire idea of skiing. However, I did have a MUCH better time this year. Not only was I far more confident in my skiing, but I was confident in the entire idea of it. (What to do for preparation, where to go, how to go about it all.) Overall, a farrrrr more enjoyable experience. Not to mention, I was forced onto some more advanced “runs,” where the views and scenery were incredible. A little push outside my comfort zone was all I needed.
I can proudly say I never fell once.. while skiing. I did fall, but not on the slopes. The first morning of our very first ski session, I was all geared up and ready to go. Kev so nicely brought me a cup of coffee, trying to keep my tension at ease as I was trying my best to prepare for the day with a positive mindset. I came around the corner to head down our long flight of stairs to the main level of our house, and I was greeted by Kev’s brother at the bottom. I took my very first step down the stairs, and BAM! Surfing’ USA. Now, had I not been so OVERLY prepared with multiple layers of fuzzy socks on my feet, then maybe this scenario would have not occurred. Our rental home was now newly decorated with coffee, all over the walls and the carpeted stairs, and I was newly decorated with a bruise on my ass the size of Park City Mountain.
Had Kevin’s brother not been at the other end to catch SOME of my fall… I would have beat out Kelly Slater for longest surf down a flight of stairs. How is it that I slide down the country’s biggest Ski Mountain without a hitch, but I can’t gracefully walk down a flight of stairs. You know what I blame for this… FUCKING FUZZY SOCKS. For those of you still wondering, I am still suffering from my bruise and I now sit differently on harder surfaces. I’ll keep you updated;)
But let’s move forward, into 2019. I am not much of a “New Year, New Me” type of gal. To each their own. I am trying really hard to set more career goals this year, but I am not big on sharing them. If I accomplish the things I have set in my own mind, then I will share, but I don’t need anyone keeping tabs.
I do feel however, that this year is going to be a major life shift for me. To get the obvious out of the way, I am getting married. But aside from that, I have more things up my sleeve that I hope to report back next year, as successful.
This year has already started off strong. We are heavy into the Wedding Planning! Were any of you going to mention that coming up with a guest list could ultimately result in divorce before marriage? HAHA! I kid obviously, but Oh my God! See, Kevin.. my sweet, loving Kevin, would love if we could invite everyone to our wedding. I mean for God sake, he would put our mailman on the guest list if he could. Now, Kylie on the other hand… I want to know you, and keep my crowd more intimate at our event. This has been a massive struggle between the two of us.. one that we are now on the other side of. But, a fair warning would have been nice people!
I’ll leave you with some Fashion. Shop my look from this Post, Below:
