Glitter Makes everything better.
Welcome to the world’s most awaited blog post.. or one of a few for my Wedding details. I was so persistent on waiting until I had my professional photo’s because I knew that my photographer Alicia Fierro (Aesthetiica) had a frikken ball photographing this beast of a dress. She delivered… no like, De-Li-Vered.
If you haven’t read a little bit about the background story of my dress… you can read all about how I found this exact one in My blog post HERE.
However, today I want to take you further into my dress adventure for my wedding. I want to share photo’s from what I ALMOST went with, different ones that I tried on..and then the moment that I put on THIS dress and made my quick decision.
The dresses BEFORE the Dress.
I won’t go into too much detail about where I went for dress try-on’s because I already did in previous posts. Unlike my sister’s dress experience, I tried on TONS of dresses. (She bought the first one she tried on.) If you know anything about me, know that I am indecisive as all hell.. so you could IMAGINE what narrowing down a fashion choice for my wedding day was like. But honestly, after I saw the dress I went with.. it was game over. I knew right in that moment, it was the one. I went in wanting NO SPARKLES, NO BIG SKIRT……. Ok, so….. do you see where those pre-requisites are a complete joke now?
Look no further, I want to share with you.. the dresses that I tried on previous to my decision.
This ^^ One Reminds me so much of the Jumpsuit that I went with for my Reception! This was also the dress that was in the window display… my “Pretty Woman” Moment from my previous dress post. If you read the post, it will make more sense!
It’s so funny how this dress is actually really similar to the one that I went with. We completely declined this dress…. there was just something about the Champagne color and whispy glitter pattern with the other design that made us fall in love.
The Dress I ALMOST bought.
Ok, so back to my wants and needs for going into this experience with a “no sparkle, no big skirt” mentality. I was hell bent on having something, “timeless.” It was just something I always wanted to make sure that I could look back on my dress and think WOW, I still love that. Instead of… ” Wow that was sooo 2019.” I grew up wearing rhinestones and over the top fluffy costumes… I didn’t think that any of that would thrill me when it came to a wedding dress. I was numb to sparkle.
It is ASTOUNDING to me the difference in the dress that we almost bought, compared to what I wore for my wedding day. They are two completely opposite vibes, but both beautiful and amazing in their own right. When it came to this look I am about to show you.. I envisioned long white gloves, slicked back hair with diamonds and a long cathedral length veil. DRAMA TO THE GODS HONEY. So without further or do, I present to you my ALMOST dress!
Crazy right? But this dress would have been equally as elegant and amazing. Just completely different and to me.. not as memorable. Trust me, I needed a wow moment… and as great as this silhouette made my figure look, it would have been beautiful but not WOW, HOLY MOLY. In this moment though, I was convinced this was it.
The Moment I Found the One.
These next few pictures are when I tried on my dress for the first time. Just to recap.. This was simply a moment where the AMAZING Maryanne, (my dress consultant) had asked me to just, “try on a dress from the back for her.” It was like she knew that this dress was calling my name. My family cannot say enough about this amazing woman and how much help she was with this dress process. We got to know her on a personal level, and she took care of me like I was her own daughter. I could go on and on.
Peep my amazing consultant in the back of these photo’s. This was the moment I tried it on for the first time and all of Nordstrom came to see it on me!

The rest is history from this moment on. Enjoy the next few photo’s of my dress from my Wedding Day, shot by the amazing Aesthetiica .
Yes.. This beast could stand on its own..and yes I am in my bra and underwear in the background.
This dress required so much assistance to get me around the property for photo’s. But check out my Uncle being the best!
I saw this photo.. fell off my chair.. choked and died. Then went to heaven.. THIS IS WHY WE NEED AESTHETIICA IN OUR LIVES.
Just a quick look at Kev realizing the Diva he just married….
Let’s Get more Comfortable….
For the end of the night, when the dance floor got goin’.. I knew I wouldn’t be able to lug that dress around all night. As crazy as it seemed to ditch that dress.. I knew that it had to happen in order to zip around my reception and more importantly, DANCE. I’ll be honest, I did not break the bank on my second look, I just knew I wanted to be comfortable, but again.. memorable.
The second this Jumpsuit hit the scene, the energy of the night went to an even higher level. I saw people out on the dance floor that I never in a million years thought would be out there for more than 5 minutes busting a move. There were loud cheers of sadness and disappointment when our band was trying to end the reception at the end of the night. It was the party of a lifetime. Also, there may have been a BOSE speaker involved to keep the party going. (Compliments of my Aunt Audra.)
Kevin’s reaction to my Jumpsuit look. Even this outfit change was kept a surprise for him. He wanted to know nothing about my looks for the entire day.
