It’s all in the Details…
WEDDING DETAIL•• This^^ is my face when I think about my Wedding dress. Today’s Topic: THE DRESS.
When I originally asked back on my IG stories what details about the Wedding you guys wanted to know, the biggest request was my dress. Now OBVIOUSLY I cannot disclose what exactly my dress is but I actually have quite the story and a few things to say about my experience.
When I went to look for Wedding dresses, I had no intention of finding it. Just wanted to go, and see what I liked or what silhouette I was into. Here is what I WILL say.. I wanted nothing with sparkle, and nothing with a big obnoxious skirt. THIS IS A VERY KEY DETAIL TO REMEMBER. So I found this frikken STUNNING dress from Nordstrom on the very first stop of the day. It was the most clean, classic, and very timeless wedding dress.. and I was so pleased with how it looked on my long lost Kardashian sister butt.
I didn’t want to settle, but we basically told Nordstrom we would be back to grab it, but I had to run to another dress appointment. Ok, so here is where my experience might shock you. We went on to another bridal store in Chicago, one that was very instagrammy and what not.. and had the WORSTTTT experience.
We walked in, and they IMMEDIATELY asked us what our budget was. It was a very “Pretty Woman” moment.. so when we told them we didn’t really know yet, just looking and trying today they instantly copped an attitude. Their dresses were falling apart, and they wouldn’t clip any of them in the back for me to see how it would fit when made for me! My mom wanted me to try one on that was in the window and the girl that was helping us quite literally said..”Oh that one is REALLLYY expensive.” Again, a very pretty woman moment. If this B saw my dress now, she would know she made a “ Big mistake…HUGE!”.
So after that childish experience. We were pretty sold on my Nordstrom dress and were far more impressed by their customer service than ANY bridal shop we went to. YA! I said it.. shocker. So we had to go to Oakbrook Mall to get my dress transferred and take an appointment in the Bridal suite there.
HERE, is where the story turns.
When I was at my Oakbrook Nordstrom appointment, the most kind, sweet woman was helping me, and she said to me..”Will you try on this dress I have in the back? I really think it would look amazing on you, just try it!” Now, at this point I had felt like I already found my dress, so I was just going to appease her and try it on. The rest you guys……..HISTORY. The dress from the back, was the dress... it is everything I did NOT want, and the complete opposite of the dress I almost sold my soul to. We have had nothing but the most amazing experience in the bridal suite at Nordstrom and honestly, I want to invite my bridal consultant to my wedding. She feels like family at this point. Ugh!!.
